Have you received an unexpected visitor to your property?
We have recently had several tenants tell us that someone came to read their gas and/or electricity meter, but they weren’t sure who they were and wondered if we had sent them.
Please remember that if anyone arrives at your property unexpectedly, you can turn them away.
If you do feel comfortable to grant them entry, please ensure you request details of the company they work for and check their ID first.
Utility companies often employ other companies to read their meters for them – we are aware of Morrisons and Meter Plus, but there may be others.
We haven’t sent them, and cannot stop them coming round.
