We have recently been experiencing a high volume of reports for rodent sightings, and often the cause is due to poor bin/rubbish management. If we do receive a report we will initially send maintenance out to set traps, but if the issue persists and an external pest control company is called, the below will be taken into consideration to determine who will cover the cost – the landlord will only be responsible if there are no sign of excess rubbish or unclean areas, which would be attracting the rodents.
You need to manage your rubbish as best as possible please and dispose of it in the bin provided or at the designated collection point, and ensure it is put out in accordance with the council collection dates.
We also encourage you to make use of the recycling boxes provided to minimise the amount of garbage, as much as possible. The Council will not collect bags which are not placed in the bin, and if you do have excess rubbish, this would need to be taken to the Hazel Court Household Waste Recycling Depot on James Street. IG will remove excess bags, but there will be a cost per bag.
